Aico is a market leader in domestic Fire and Carbon Monoxide (CO) protection, pioneering new technologies and offering high-quality alarms. Aico alarms meet all UK standards with a wide range of sensor types to ensure every home is protected.
They came to us needing an App that would allow their customer base which consists of Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Electrical Contractors and more, to help them find the best possible products. There were some requirements that the app needed to meet. The App would need to work offline and hold a large amount of content and images without being slowed down.

A visually stunning and easy to navigate app that’s packed full of custom features and functionality. The bespoke app is available on both IOS and Android. The app has everything Aico’s customers will need from the start to finish of a project. From help specifying the correct products to use with the interactive room selector, installation guides, datasheets and even installation certificates.

The app includes multiple key features which assist with ease of use and safety checks. These include an interactive product selector to help the user find the most suitable product for the job, with product pages for each type of product. Further features include product data sheets and wiring instructions. The app will also generate Installation Certificates upon install giving the user all the information and access to the documentation they could possibly need.
The barcode scanner was one of many bespoke features needed by Aico. This feature allows users to scan the barcode of a certain product which then shows all the useful guides, product information and wiring diagrams relevant to that product. It couldn’t be easier or faster for the installer to find the right information they need for a job. In addition, the app also gives the user the option to download videos to their device for offline viewing. This means that they have access to important information even when there is no connectivity.

Regarding safety alarms, the relevant paperwork is essential for signing off a project and work completed. This app allows users to fill in forms to generate certificates of Design, Installation and Commissioning of Smoke/Heat/CO2 alarms. The Image uploader allows the user to add a company Logo of choice to the document making the documentation customisable.

The UX and UI design of the app is very easy to follow as well as being intuitive for each user. Making sure automatic processes and all essential information is easy to find and functions throughout.
