What is the SME Climate Hub?
The SME Climate Hub is a government organisation partnered with the University of Oxford to support small and medium-sized businesses to reduce their carbon footprint. We share the same belief, that climate change is everyone’s business. Climate change is a global issue, that’s why they are partnered with the United Nations, supporting an international campaign, the ‘United Nations Race to Zero campaign’. This campaign unites an extraordinary alliance of governments, businesses, cities, regions, and universities around the world committed to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by no later than 2050.
We at gloversure are constantly striving to improve, so we are making a change for the betterment of our society and future generations. That is why we’ve joined the SME Climate Hub commitment, committing to providing concrete actions to reduce carbon emissions.
We’ve committed to cut out greenhouse gas emissions and reach net zero by 2030.
How does it work?
To join the commitment, you must agree to three actions:
- Halve your carbon emissions by 2030
- Reach net zero before 2050
- Disclose their progress yearly
Once you’ve signed up and made the commitment, the SME Climate Hub gets in touch and provides you with tools to help you understand your emissions and how to reduce them. As well as how to share what you’re doing with your customers and community. Throughout the process, they provide continuous support through new ideas, tools and resources and incentives to help you meet your commitment.
