Custom Web Development Wales

Founded in 1993, Tŷ-Mawr Lime was created by Nigel and Joyce Gervis, who were struggling to source traditional lime materials for their farm restoration in the Brecon Beacons. They began producing their own, launching a company that has since become a UK leader in sustainable, yet traditional building materials. With a commitment to education and quality traditional products, Tŷ-Mawr partnered with us, looking for a bespoke Magento 2 website that widened their digital presence. Showcasing their products as well as their building skills courses.

Modern design that reflects their brand

For Tŷ-Mawr Lime’s website design, we opted for page layouts featuring contemporary grid layouts that create structure. A muted colour scheme featuring greys and blues gives the Tŷ-Mawr Lime brand added character, whilst reflecting their heritage. Smooth hover animations on link sections also create an added sense of dimension to the overall design.

Seamless navigation for every user

To ensure users find exactly what they need on every page, we added a “sticky menu bar”, keeping navigation simple no matter where users are. Populated by a combination of page and social media links, users are able to get where they need with ease. For online shoppers, a direct link takes them to the eCommerce section of the site, showcasing stock by category whilst allowing them to filter by price, brand, thickness and length if applicable.

Services & Technology

Tŷ-Mawr Lime, a UK leader in sustainable traditional building materials, partnered with us to create a bespoke Magento 2 website that reflects their heritage and expands their digital presence. Their new website features a modern, structured design with intuitive navigation, smart product calculators, a custom paint picker, and a store locator to enhance user experience.

Intuitive calculators developed for precision

We knew builders and craftspeople alike would be looking for specific amounts when shopping for their products online. Therefore, we integrated a variety of calculators that use custom forms to collect customer measurements and preferences to calculate required quantities. These calculators display product lists with prices for immediate purchase through the Magento checkout:
• Mortar and plaster calculators: offering three product size options
• Paint and insulation calculators: providing one combined option

Elevating convenience with a store locator

Empowering customers with more buying options creates a more positive, memorable experience. With this in mind, we added a store locator page, integrated with Google Maps that allows customers to find their nearest distributor with ease.

Informed decisions with a custom paint picker

Every paint product page uses a custom-built selector that lets customers choose paints by colour, displayed with swatches for a clear example. Customers can then select the desired size. Grouped products are linked through a custom setup, allowing users to easily view all size options for a chosen colour and giving them greater choice.

Connecting trades with bookable courses

For both businesses and craftspeople, expanding their skills is crucial. Tŷ-Mawr Lime’s commitment to education is reflected with a range of courses that are available to book online. Featuring intuitive custom options for customers to provide details like interests, dietary needs, or access requirements.

Ensuring accuracy with Orderwise integration

As a UK leader, keeping online product management streamlined is essential. Using a custom importer, we integrated the Otherwise ERP system to ensure accurate catalogue updates and customer links. Every order is exported to Otherwise to consolidate inventory and order management.
