Meet Robyn – Operations Director

Getting to know us…Meet Robyn
An integral part our team here at gloversure are our managers and directors, they steer the ship and ensure daily operations run seamlessly. We caught up with our Operations Director Robyn to find out what she gets up to in her spare time and her favourite aspects of working at gloversure...
What’s your role at gloversure?
As the Operations Director, I’m responsible for the smooth running of everyday operations here at gloversure. With a background in Design, Marketing, and Consulting, I’m at the forefront of client communications, ensuring every project we take on is delivered with care and attention. Whether it’s guiding a client through the design process or troubleshooting a complex development challenge, I thrive on turning ideas into reality and love being part of a team that’s as committed to innovation as I am.

How did you end up here?
My journey to gloversure wasn’t entirely conventional, but it’s one I wouldn’t trade for anything. After earning my BA in Graphic Communication, I began my career in Design before transitioning into Marketing roles. Like many, 2020 brought unexpected challenges when the pandemic led to redundancy. While it was a difficult moment, it turned out to be a huge blessing in disguise.
That same week, I joined gloversure as an Account Manager. From the outset, I embraced the fast-paced environment and quickly found my footing. Over time, my role evolved, and I’ve never looked back. The journey has been both fulfilling and rewarding, offering countless opportunities to grow alongside an incredible team.

A surprising fact about yourself?
When I was 19, I embarked on a Graphic Design internship with Harper’s Bazaar in India. This was an amazing opportunity to immerse myself in the world of fashion, print, and high-end editorial design. Harper's Bazaar is one of the world’s leading fashion magazines.
During my internship, I worked closely with the creative team on various design elements - from layouts and typography to image selection and magazine covers. It was an eye-opening experience to see how high-end fashion design is executed under tight deadlines and with a strong focus on luxury branding. This internship was pivotal in shaping my understanding of design and provided me with invaluable skills that I still carry with me today in my role at gloversure.

Favourite part of working at gloversure?
It has to be the people. At gloversure, every project brings fresh challenges and opportunities to collaborate with clients from all industries. From ambitious startups to established businesses, each client has a unique story, and it’s a privilege to help bring their ideas to life.
Internally, our team is truly special. The synergy, creativity, and dedication everyone brings to the table are unmatched. Working alongside such talented individuals is inspiring and keeps every day exciting.

When you’re not in the office, what are you up to?
Outside of work, you’ll often find me exploring the scenic trails of Shropshire and Wales. Hiking is my go-to activity for recharging and soaking in the natural beauty of the area. I’m also a self-confessed foodie, always on the lookout for hidden culinary gems to try.
At home, I enjoy spending time with my two dogs, who ensure there’s never a dull moment. Hitting the gym is another passion of mine - it helps me stay active and clears my mind after a busy week.

What makes a good web design in your opinion?
A good web design prioritises user experience above all else. It’s about creating a seamless balance between aesthetics and functionality. A website should captivate users visually while making it effortless for them to navigate and find what they need.
For me, a great design is one that feels intuitive - it anticipates the user’s needs, eliminates friction, and delivers a memorable experience. Whether it’s an eCommerce platform, a service-based site, or something entirely bespoke, the user’s journey should always come first.

What are you listening to/reading at the moment?
Podcasts are a staple in my daily routine. I’m currently hooked on The Diary of a CEO and The Drum Network Presents. Both offer inspiring insights into leadership, business strategies, and creativity.
On the reading front, I’m diving back into The Chimp Paradox by Dr. Steve Peters. It’s an incredible guide to understanding how the mind works, helping you master self-management and improve both personal and professional relationships.
