A visually stunning website to showcase a wealth of history, incredible food, and local roots

The Trewythen Hotel, formerly known as The Trewythen Arms, is a Grade ii listed Georgian Restaurant with seven ensuite bedrooms situated in the busy market town of Llanidloes, Mid Wales. The hotel was the scene of the Chartists riots in April 1839, which saw peaceful protests for voting rights become riots on the streets of the small town.

Boasting high-quality food that is locally sourced from a local supply chain. Prepared and cooked by skilled award-winning chefs and an experienced team. They required a brand image and logo to help distinguish their unique offering in the local market, our designers worked with the Chartist team to develop ideas for their brand and logo.

This is a digital solution for a busy team. The website needed to showcase what they have to offer and more. In addition, they need to easily update content, like the ever-changing menus. Most importantly to have a great user experience to help upsell bookings.

Quality images to help the user to ‘eat with their eyes’. The custom design appeals to all ages showcasing the property as a local destination restaurant, appealing to couples, families, and visitors to the area for many reasons; walking, family, fishing, sport, and holidays.

Gallery images and videos can be viewed full screen on all kinds of devices, making the website mobile-friendly and accessible to all demographics and users. However, these large-quality images do not slow the website down, the site still boasts impressive load times due to the custom build.

The menus are easily editable in the admin area, allowing the team to update prices and change their seasonal menus. To do this we used advanced post types which allows them the flexibility to easily adjust, update and reorder their menu.

Functionality to improve the guest experience

Ordering vouchers online for the restaurant and accommodation is simple through the website, increasing revenue for the business. Website users can now easily book a room with Caterbook Integration. This is a booking availability page where website visitors can view and easily book to stay in the available accommodation.

Guests and website users can also book a table using the website integration with simplyERB. Not only does this allow users to see what’s available and when, but it also takes on some tasks digitally, freeing up some valuable time for the busy team.
