A modern twist on tradition: Capesthrone Hall's rebrand & web design

Capesthorne Hall was built between 1719 and 1732, on 100 acres of picturesque Cheshire countryside. Three centuries later, the historic halls’ distinctive Jacobean-style architecture remains as stunning as it was when it was first built. The hall grounds are complemented by its formal gardens, beautiful wildlife, chain of lakes and Milanese gates. Now, it has become a sought-after venue for weddings, events and even filming for period dramas and popular TV shows like Coronation Street.

The team at Capesthorne Hall contacted us to discuss a new logo, brand guidelines, brochures and a new website. Right from the first discovery call we knew we had a real opportunity to deliver a stunning new identity for Capesthorne Hall.

We created a new identity that expressed their unique, sophisticated service

We wanted to showcase the Hall in all its grandeur, whilst creating a minimal, light aesthetic. Using a variety of Adobe software and influences from fine art, the logo was drawn freehand in the delicate style our client preferred.

We then customized a standard font with added glyphs to create a more curvaceous font unique to Capesthorne Hall. Together, the font and hall visual have given our client a contemporary new logo that reiterates their high-end services.

Brand Guidelines

To guide Capesthorne Hall to a consistent new identity, we crafted an in-depth set of brand guidelines. Giving our client clear directions on how to use the logo, logo spacing and alterations, different colourways, font guidelines, imagery and print marketing.

To maintain complete consistency throughout, we styled the brochure in Capesthorne’s new muted tones, with clean lines and text making the guidelines the main focus.

Wedding Brochure & Wedding Accommodation Brochure

To showcase the full extent of Capesthorne’s wedding services, we created a set of bespoke brochures for wedding and accommodation, outlining exactly what each couple can expect on their big day.

The design stays true to the new branding we created for them, with muted tones and the same hand drawn petals from the new web design. Page layouts are kept simple and balanced, with an even blend of text and image. Each page maintains it’s individuality with respective image grids, showcasing Capesthorne’s photography to the full.

For ledgibility, text is kept the same size throughout the brochure, with the same font combination as the website concept. Making sure important information like dates and prices was easy to find and read was a crucial element.

We developed a stunning, UX-driven website flourished in their new identity

Their new website was built on WordPress, a powerful platform that gives the Capesthorne Hall team straightforward tools to manage their content. As well as paving the way for future development as they evolve. Capesthorne Hall’s new identity became the ethos of our design. Each individual visual element was handpicked to tell the story of history and elegance on every page.

The homepage aims to impress, engage and interest from the get-go. With a full-width banner video, users are instantly immersed in the Capesthrone Hall experience. Showing stunning cinematic shots of the property, aerial views of the grounds and past weddings. Additionally, a hamburger menu helps customers navigate their extensive service offerings easily. Large feature imagery and a gallery system allow Capesthorne Hall to showcase their stunning assets in a variety of neat layouts.

Enhancing their content reach

To further promote the Capesthorne Hall brand and grow its social media following, we integrated an Instagram feed at the bottom of every page. As well as this, to help Capesthorne drive more traffic to their website, we integrated their new website with a blog system. Where they can create keyword-rich content to drive new and potential customers.

Integrating a convenient 'Events Management' tool

Capesthorne Hall runs a wide variety of events throughout the year. From a 50-Piece Orchestra to commando-inspired challenges. To help them easily manage, edit and showcase their events, we integrated an events management tool into their WordPress. Giving website users an easy-to-view layout of up-and-coming events. Showing the date, event title, description and a related image. Users can also search for events using a search bar at the top.

Client Feedback:

“From the start of our journey, Gloversure have been fantastic. The moment we came across their work, we knew that they were the right company for us.

Wanting a complete brand refresh, including a new logo, new website, and two brochures, our brief was not easy. However, Gloversure were brilliant with the whole process. Every detail was worked on thoroughly, and if there were ever extra details and changes that we wanted, they were always quick to adapt as well as giving us professional advice for decisions that could have adverse impact.

The design team did an amazing job with our new branding producing exactly what we had imagined and beyond. And now having just launched our new website, the feedback has been fantastic, and we are so excited to show off our new look.

We would recommend Gloversure to anyone wanting a brand refresh or a new website!”
