Getting to know us…
As gloversure continues to grow, so does our team. So what better time than now to find out more about our team members. This time we sat down with Josh, one of our Developers.
What’s your role at gloversure?
I am a developer primarily focused on apps, though I also help out where I can in other areas such as WordPress, React and Infrastructure.

How did you end up here?
I undertook my university industrial year here after looking for opportunities based around Chester, and enjoyed it so much I decided to come back!

A surprising fact about yourself?
I am really into maps and have various ones hung on my wall, including a huge world map.

Favourite part of working at gloversure?
I really enjoy the problem solving aspect of the programming I do and the challenges that come with it, and being able to do this across various different kinds of projects. It's also great working with other members of the team!

When you’re not in the office, what are you up to?
Typically, when out of the office I would be playing video games, either solo or with friends. I also spend a lot of time doing sports/exercising, such as swimming, going to the gym, or (primarily) playing football, both casually and as part of a team.

What makes a good web design in your opinion?
Good web design means providing a good user experience. A website should be engaging, visually appealing, easy to navigate, and get information across in a way that is clear and easily digestible.

What are you listening to/reading at the moment?
At the moment (and most of the time!) I'm mainly listening to various kinds of metal (e.g. melodic death, folk, power) or electronic (e.g. trance, house, techno) music. I am not reading anything at the moment but would like to read down the line, for example The Lord of the Rings or The Witcher.
